100 Series gliding patio door units are handed from the EXTERIOR (outside) of the home, based on the location of the operating patio door panel. 100 Series patio door units use XO and OX handing; X=Operating and O=Stationary. For example, if the operating patio door panel is on the left from the exterior, the unit will be XO handed.
The 100 Series patio door panels are handed individually based on their location in the patio door frame as viewed from the exterior of the home. For example, if the operating (venting) patio door panel is on the left, the patio door panel is an operating left-hand panel. If the stationary patio door panel is located on the right, it is a stationary right-hand panel.
100 Series XO and OX Configurations
Gliding patio door handing is from the EXTERIOR of the home. The patio door panels are labeled from left to right.
Stationary, non-operating panel
XO unit, operating left panel / stationary right panel
OX Unit, operating right panel / stationary left panel
Andersen does not manufacture 100 Series gliding patio doors with a three (3) or four (4) patio door panel configuration housed in one frame. However, there is an option for the standard two (2) patio door panel configuration to have an independent sidelight or stationary panel joined to the side of the gliding patio door unit.
100 Series gliding patio door insect screens are handed the same as the unit. Additional components such as rollers, locks and weatherstrip are not handed.
