If your Andersen® A-Series, 200 Series, and 400 Series patio door hinged insect screen is not closing at a speed or tension that you want, those settings on your door's closer assembly can be adjusted.
How to Adjust Closer Assembly on a Hinged Insect Screen
The closer assembly is the hydraulic cylinder included with the closer kit, as shown at the top of the image below. Adjusting the closer assembly can be done in a few quick steps and will help ensure your hinged insect screen closes smoothly.

Adjust Closer Assembly's Speed and Tension
If you have an A-Series or 200 Series patio door, follow steps 34 through 36 on Page 15 in the A-Series and 200 Series Adjustment Guide (0005449)
to adjust the closing speed and tension.
If you have a 400 Series patio door, follow steps 17 through 18 on Page 9 in the 400 Series Adjustment Guide (0005328)
to adjust the closing speed and tension.
Note:
- The insect screen closer assembly's closing speed can be adjusted by turning the screw at the end of the closer-assembly tube.
- The insect screen closer assembly's closing tension can be adjusted by altering the placement of the bracket that holds the closer assembly in place.
