For Andersen® A-Series and 400 Series Frenchwood® hinged inswing patio doors manufactured after November 2005 and 400 Series Frenchwood® hinged inswing patio doors with Stormwatch® Protection.

The patio door hinges should carry an even load, or equal tension, on each hinge. If your patio door panel is not opening or closing with ease, the hinges may need to be adjusted. To adjust your patio door hinges, follow the instructions provided in the YouTube® video or adjustment guide below. Adjustments are made using a 5/32" hex wrench (available at your local hardware store).

Adjustment Guide

See our adjustment guide for further instructions, Hinge Replacement & Hardware Adjustment Guide for A-Series & 400 Series Frenchwood® Hinged Inswing Patio Doors (0005413) Opens in a New Browser Tab.

For horizontal adjustments, adjust all hinges inward or outward as needed to correct the gap and center the patio door panel in the frame. The gap between the door panel and frame should be equal to the thickness of the 5/32" (inch) hex wrench.

For vertical adjustment, turn the vertical adjustment screw on the bottom hinge clockwise a half turn - continue turning the screw until the door panel is centered vertically in the door frame. On the next hinge, turn the vertical adjustment screw clockwise until the door panel moves slightly, then turn counterclockwise a quarter turn. Repeat for remaining hinges (working up from the bottom hinge).
