The easiest way to determine the handing of your casement window unit is from the exterior (outside) of the home. The handing of the window unit is determined based on which side the hinge is located.
Right-Handed Unit
1. Upper Hinge
2. Lower Hinge

Handing from Inside the Home
If it is difficult to go outside or to visualize the handing from the exterior, you can determine your unit's handing from the interior using the location of the lock. For example, if the casement windows (see image below) were to be handed from the interior, the lock would be located on the right-hand side of one window and the left-hand side of the other. That means the window with the lock on the left side would be left- handed and the window with the lock on the right side would be right-handed. Ordering Replacement Parts
Replacement parts are available in the Andersen Windows and Doors Part Store. All casement hardware including locks, operators and hinges is handed based on the hinge location when viewed from the exterior. Replacement window sash is not handed.
