Regular care and maintenance of Andersen® insect screens are recommended. For best results, clean your insect screen at least once a year. More frequent cleanings may be required if in an area with industrial pollutants or high concentrations of salt air.
Cleaning Insect Screen Mesh and Frame

Mild Soap and Water
Soft Bristled Brush
Soft, Dry Cloth
Clean the insect screen mesh using mild soap, fresh water, and a soft-bristled brush. After cleaning, rinse thoroughly with fresh water.
Clean the insect screen frame using mild soap, fresh water, and a soft-bristled brush. After cleaning, rinse thoroughly with fresh water and use a soft cloth to completely dry.
To prevent corrosion of your insect screen frame, an aerosol corrosion inhibitor spray can be used on the frame as part of a regular care and maintenance routine. A 16 oz. aerosol can of corrosion inhibitor can be ordered through the Andersen Solution Center, see Contact Andersen® Windows and Doors or your local Andersen retailer, see Locating Andersen® Window and Door Retailers/Dealers.
Painting the insect screen frame is not recommended; a replacement insect screen is suggested.
