Installation
Instructions for removing the sash on the following 400 Series and 200 Series double-hung windows.
Remove the bottom sash following the steps provided in the sash installation guide.
Carefully place the sash on a flat, clean surface, the exterior side facing up.
Remove the top sash and place it on a flat, clean surface.
Insert the thin blade putty knife in between the existing glazing bead and sash. Gently push the bead toward the center of the glass until the glazing bead is pried loose.
Once the old glazing bead is removed, take the mitered end of the new glazing bead and insert it into one corner of the glass. Replace these glazing beads by starting with the rails and then installing the stiles. Flex the bead so that it sits loosely into the opposite corner.
Starting at the edges of the window, firmly press the glazing beads into the sash. When the beads are set, you will hear a click.
Check the glazing beads for any gaps. If gaps are present, remove and reseat the glazing beads.
Reinstall the sash, reversing the steps for removing the sash.
