Replacing an Insect Screen Handle on an Andersen® 100 Series Gliding Patio Door
This article shows how to remove and install the insect screen handle on your patio door. The handle helps open, close, and secure the screen panel.
Replacement Parts
Replacement insect screen handle kits are available in black from the Andersen® Parts Store.
100 Series Gliding Patio Door Insect Screen Handle Kit
The handle kit includes:
- Outside handle
- Inside handle
- Lock handle
- Lock latch (locks the screen in place)
- Screws
Tools and Supplies
- Safety Glasses
- Phillips Screwdriver

Installation
Insert the Lock Latch
Insert the lock latch into the side slot of the insect screen frame.
Make sure the lip faces the outside of the door.

Insert the Lock Latch
Attach the Inside Handle
Slide the latch into the inside handle.
Align the tabs and press until the handle snaps into place.

Align and Secure the Interior Handle
Attach the Outside Handle
Insert the tabs of the outside handle into the holes on the outside of the frame.

Attach the Outside Handle
Secure the Handle
Insert the screw and tighten it with a Phillips screwdriver.
Make sure the handle is tight and does not move.

Tighten the Handle Screw
Helpful Tips
If the Handle Feels Loose
- Make sure the latch is fully in place
- Check that the handle is snapped in securely
- Tighten the screw if needed
