For optimal performance, Andersen® windows and patio doors may require periodic care and maintenance. The hardware or other moving components on your Andersen product may need to be cleaned and lubricated for smooth operation. Hardware screws, especially hinge screws, should be periodically inspected and tightened if necessary.

Remove grease or debris with a soft, dry cloth. Wipe down the hardware/component using water, a small amount of soap, and a clean, dry cloth to remove any dust or debris. Harsh abrasive cleaners are not recommended.

After cleaning, lubricate window and patio door lock mechanisms, hardware, hinges, and other moving components. We recommend using a dry lubricant spray. Dry lubricant spray Opens in a New Browser Tab may be ordered through the Andersen Online Parts Store or your local hardware store.

It is important to use a dry lubricant that does not contain acetone to avoid damaging your Andersen product.
