Perma-Shield® gliding windows manufactured from 1971-1992 use weatherstrip on the window sash and unit frame. The frame weatherstrip is no longer available, and a similar replacement may be located at a local hardware store.
Window Sash Weatherstrip
The weatherstrip is located on each window sash and meets together when in a closed and locked position. This weatherstrip is called meeting stile weatherstrip. The operating and stationary Meeting Stile Weatherstrip
is White in color and ordered by the size of the unit. The replacement meeting stile weatherstrip is secured using vinyl-to-vinyl adhesive.

Installation
Tools/Supplies Needed
- Safety Glasses
- Meeting Stile Weatherstrip
- Vinyl-to-Vinyl Adhesive

- Needle Nose Pliers
- Mild soapy water
- Soft, Dry Cloth


Remove the window sash using the following Installation Guide (9034246). 
Using a needle nose pliers, remove the meeting stile weatherstrip.
Clean the area with denatured alcohol and a soft, dry cloth to remove any dirt or remaining adhesive.
Apply a 2" line of Vinyl-to-Vinyl Adhesive
to the previous location of the meeting stile weatherstrip.
Attach a 2" segment of the meeting stile weatherstrip to the vinyl-to-vinyl adhesive and hold until set.
Repeat steps four (4) and five (5) until the entire piece of meeting stile weatherstrip is attached to the window sash.
Replace the window sash in the unit frame using the following Installation Guide (9034246).
