The handle of a gliding insect screen for an Andersen® patio door should align with the insect screen latch on the frame of the patio door unit. If the handle does not align with the latch, the gliding insect screen was possibly installed upside down.
Fix a Gliding Insect Screen Handle Alignment Concern
To determine if the unit was installed upside down, follow the steps below to inspect your gliding insect screen.

Inspect the Unit
- Look at the edge of the insect screen for the adjustment screws.
The adjustment screws should be closer to the door sill than the top of the door frame, like the image to the right. If it isn't, the unit was installed upside down.

- Look at how the current insect screen is installed.
The top rail should be thinner than the bottom rail like the image to the right. If it isn't, the unit was installed upside down. The rails are the horizontal parts of the frame at both the top and bottom of the unit.
