When replacing an Andersen® 400 Series casement or awning operator manufactured from 1995 to 1998, the current operator and an adapter plate must be ordered. The adapter plate is not included with the operator and must be ordered separately, and is intended for use with both left-handed and right-handed split-arm and straight-arm operator replacements.
Prior to ordering, verify the need for the adapter by identifying the number of grooves on the frame to accept the operator holding legs. If the frame has one or no grooves, then the adapter plate isn't needed. Contact Andersen® Windows and Doors today for assistance with a quote for replacement parts.
Adaptor Plate
Installation
The adapter plate snaps onto the base plate of the operator mechanism with no modifications needed. The operator base holes are in the same location for both vintages. The center hole location is common for all operator vintages. There may be drilling required for the holes left and right of the center. After the adapter plate is snapped into place, the current vintage operator will have two holding legs and will work as a replacement operator on casement window frames manufactured between 1995-1998.
