Andersen® 200 Series hinged inswing patio doors feature door panel(s) that swing into the home. They are offered in either a single-opening or double-opening configuration.
- A single-opening patio door unit has one (1) operating panel that opens and closes, which is also referred to as the active panel. These units can also include a stationary panel that does not open.
- A double-opening patio door unit has two (2) operating panels that open and close. They have an active panel that opens first and a passive panel that opens second.
Install Lock Mechanism on Andersen® 200 Series Hinged Inswing Patio Door
This article provides you with resources for ordering and installing a replacement lock mechanism on a 200 Series hinged inswing patio door.
Let's Get Started
1. Order Parts
- Determine what lock you need to replace, depending on whether you have a single-opening or double-opening patio door.
- Single-Opening Patio Doors: Only use an active lock mechanism on the operating, or active, panel. If your unit has a stationary door panel, it does not have a separate lock mechanism.
- Double-Opening Patio Doors: The active panel uses an active lock mechanism, and the passive panel uses a passive lock mechanism.
- Continue to Step Two (2) for ordering details on replacement active lock mechanisms.
- When replacing an active lock mechanism, the active door panels on 200 Series single- and double-opening inswing patio doors use either a single-point lock or a multi-point lock, and these are not interchangeable. To determine which replacement active lock mechanism you need, open your patio door and examine the edge where the center latch protrudes from the patio door panel. Use the images below as a reference.
