This article provides information on ordering and installing weatherstrips on Andersen A-Series awning and casement window sashes.
Install a Window Sash Weatherstrip on Andersen® A-Series Awning and Casement Windows
A-Series awning and casement windows use two (2) types of weatherstrip on the window sash. There is a leaf weatherstrip and a bulb weatherstrip.
On windows manufactured from 2008 to 2011, the leaf weatherstrip is installed on all four (4) sides of the window sash. For windows manufactured from 2011 to Present, the leaf weatherstrip is installed on the top horizontal edge only and the bulb weatherstrip is applied on both vertical sides of the window sash.

1. Order Parts
Contact Andersen® Windows and Doors to order either the leaf or bulb weatherstrip.
- The leaf weatherstrip is made to order based on the size of your unit.
- The replacement bulb weatherstrip is available in Grey, White, or Canvas colors and can be cut to fit your window unit.
2. Install Parts
- Remove the window sash from the frame. For assistance, follow the guides below for removal instructions. then proceed to step two (2) below.
- Using needle-nose pliers, remove the original weatherstrip from the window sash.
- Clean the area with mild soapy water and a soft, dry cloth to remove any dirt or debris.
- Insert the new weatherstrip, positioning the weatherstrip leg into the channel on the window sash and pressing it into place.
