This article will help adjust 400 Series gliding windows and provides step-by-step instructions and a video to assist with the adjustments.
In order for your 400 Series gliding window to open and close smoothly, the sash must be properly adjusted. Adjusting your gliding window sash will keep your window working smoothly and may also resolve any current operational issues.

Adjustment Instructions
There are four (4) glides on each active/passive window sash: two (2) glides on the top of the sash and two (2) glides on the bottom of the sash.
Window Sash Removed - Four (4) Glides
Unlock and open the active window sash about 3".
Using a tape measure, measure the reveal (or gap) between the side jamb and the window sash. Measure the reveal at the top, center, and bottom.
Top of Window Sash Tilting Towards Side Jamb: This indicates the back glide must be adjusted down.
Top of Window Sash Tilting Away from Side Jamb: This indicates the back glide must be adjusted up Use a utility knife to remove the adjustment hole plug. The gliding window adjustment screw (cam) will be exposed.
Check Revel
There is an adjustment hole plug over the gliding window. Use a utility knife to remove the adjustment hole plug. The gliding window adjustment screw (cam) will be exposed.
Using a flat-blade screwdriver, turn the adjustment screw to the right to raise the glide or the left to lower the glide. Right to raise. Left to lower.
Adjustment Cam
After adjusting the window sash glides, check the reveal of the window sash. Adjust the window sash glides until the reveal at the top, center, and bottom is equal or within 1/8".
