400 Series Perma-Shield® awning and casement windows feature a waterbar. The waterbar is located along the top of the window sash. A replacement waterbar is ordered by Determine the Size of Your Andersen® Window or Patio Door. To identify your window Series, see Identify Your Product in the Andersen Help Center.

Currently, awning window waterbars and a selection of casement window waterbars are not available through the Andersen® Online Parts Store. Contact Andersen® Windows and Doors today for assistance with a quote for replacement parts.

Installation

Tools / Supplies Needed

• Safety Glasses
• Waterbar
• Utility Knife
• Mild Soapy Water
• Soft, Dry Cloth
• Vinyl-to-Vinyl Adhesive 

Note: Removal of the sash from the unit is not necessary to replace the waterbar.

1. Carefully cut the existing waterbar, using a utility knife from the top of the window sash. 

2. Clean the area with mild soapy water and a soft, dry cloth to remove any dirt or debris.

3. Apply a thin line of adhesive to the window sash surface where the previous waterbar was located. Vinyl-to-vinyl adhesive will dry very quickly. 

4. Press the waterbar in place and hold for 30-40 seconds until fixed.
