Andersen® 100 Series casement and awning windows use three (3) types of weatherstrip on the sash.

The first weatherstrip is the primary weatherstrip, which covers the entire perimeter of the sash.

The sides of the sash have two (2) leaf weatherstrips. These are the weatherstrips closest to the outside of the home.

The top of the sash has one (1) top rail bulb weathertrip. This is the weatherstrip closest to the inside of the home.

Replacement Parts

Installation

Tools/Supplies Needed

• Safety Glasses
• Leaf or Bulb Weatherstrip
• Needle Nose Pliers
• Mild soapy water
• Soft, Dry Cloth

Pull the existing weatherstrip out of the window sash, using needle nose pliers if needed. 

Clean the area with mild soapy water and a soft, dry cloth to remove any dirt or debris.

Insert the new weatherstrip leg into the window sash weatherstrip panel and press it into place.

Note: The primary weatherstrip is one piece, be careful not to pull the weatherstrip too tight around the corners. There should be no gaps where the ends of the weatherstrip meet. This intersection needs to be located at the sides towards the top and not on the top or bottom of the sash.
