Andersen® Perma-Shield® gliding patio door units are handed from the exterior of the home using the location of the operating patio door panel. If the operating patio door panel is on the left as viewed from the outside of the home, the unit is a left-handed unit. If the unit is left-handed, the patio door panels are ordered as operating left and stationary left.

To determine whether you have a three (3) panel Perma-Shield® gliding patio door or a two (2) panel patio door with a stationary patio door attached, see 3-Panel Perma-Shield® Gliding Patio Door Identification.
