Replacing and Adjusting Rollers on Gliding Patio Door Insect Screens

Adjustment

Our gliding insect screen features either stainless steel spring guides or spring-loaded rollers on top and rollers on the bottom.

If the bottom appears to be dragging, insert a flat-blade screwdriver into the adjusting holes on the inside bottom rail, and turn the screwdriver to raise or lower the screen. If the roller doesn't adjust or the adjustment doesn't correct the issue, see Roller and Spring Options for Andersen® 400 and 200 Series Patio Door Gliding Insect Screens.

Insect Screen Removal

To remove the insect screen, slide it to the center of the frame, lift it up, and pull it out at the bottom. When replacing the gliding insect screen, be sure to insert the top into the vinyl channel first, making sure the roller or spring makes contact with the vinyl extruded rib inside the channel. Then position the bottom rollers on the sill rib guide. If the insect screen operates stiffly, make sure the rollers are properly seated on the guide.

Replacement insect screens, rollers, rescreening kits and dry lubricant spray may be purchased through the Andersen® Online Parts Store Opens in a New Browser Tab. Or Contact Andersen® Windows and Doors today for assistance with a quote for parts.
