Active Lock Mechanism

 

400 Series Frenchwood® hinged inswing single-opening patio doors use an active lock mechanism. To order an active lock mechanism Opens in a New Browser Tabthe patio door size is required. Active lock mechanisms are universally handed. See the replacement section below for more information.

Passive Lock Mechanism

 

Double-opening patio doors have an active panel and a passive panel. The active patio door panel is the patio door that is opened first in a double-opening patio door unit, while the passive patio door panel is the panel that opens second in a double-opening patio door unit.

 

The active panel uses a multi-point lock mechanism. To order an active lock mechanism Opens in a New Browser Tab, the patio door size is required. Active lock mechanisms are universally handed.

 

The passive patio door panel uses a passive lock mechanism. There are separate replacements for 400 Series Frenchwood® hinged inswing patio doors manufactured from 1993 - 2003 and 2003 - present. Installation

Andersen® A-Series, E-Series, 400 Series and 200 Series hinged inswing and outswing patio doors use universally handed lock mechanisms. For information on changing the handing of the replacement lock mechanism, see Change Lock's Handing on Andersen® Hinged Patio Door.

 

For locks manufactured before 2003, screw hole alignment may differ from current lock mechanisms. Verify hole positions before installation and adjust as needed.
