How to Lubricate Window or Patio Door Hardware
Cleaning and lubricating the hardware and other moving components can be done in a few quick steps.

Take a moment to inspect any hardware screws, especially hinge screws, to determine if they need to be tightened before following the steps below.
1. Clean Hardware
- Remove any visible grease, dust, or debris from your door or window hardware using a soft, dry cloth.
- Clean the hardware with mild soapy and a clean cloth.
- Wipe the hardware dry with another clean cloth immediately.
Note: Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the finish.
2. Lubricate Hardware
Once clean, you can lubricate the operator, lock mechanisms, hinges, and other moving hardware on your window or patio door.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions to apply the dry lubricant spray to window or patio door hardware.
Important: Avoid lubricants containing acetone, as they may damage your Andersen product.
We recommend using a dry lubricant spray, which is available on the Andersen Parts Store.
