Properly adjusted gliding patio door insect screens will improve the operation. It is recommended to check the installation and adjustment of the gliding insect screen once a year. If the insect screen is removed during the winter months, spring installation is a perfect time to inspect the gliding insect screen for wear and proper adjustment. For information on installing gliding insect screens, reference Insect Screen Installation for 200 Series and 400 Series Gliding Patio Doors

Instructions to adjust gliding insect screens, see 400, 200, and A-Series Gliding Insect Screen Roller Replacement and Adjustment Guide

Cleaning

Gliding insect screens are best cleaned with a garden hose and soapy water. If they have been neglected, wash them with detergent and water, using a soft-fiber brush. A soft-fiber brush can be used to remove any debris. After cleaning, thoroughly rinse the insect screen and track to remove all soap residue.

Do not use oil-base cleaners or lubricants on Andersen® insect screens. An oily film may remain to cause a collection of dust, affecting the performance of the unit.

Do not paint insect screens or any surface that has sliding contact with other parts.
