Some interior removable wood grilles can be repaired, depending on the location and severity of the damage. Breaks at the intersection of vertical and horizontal bars are often easy to fix with wood glue.
However, if the grille is shattered or significantly damaged, replacement is recommended. If the fastener at the tip of the grille is broken, it can be replaced separately. For grilles that feel loose, try removing them and gently bending the fasteners slightly toward the grille to increase tension and improve the fit.

How to Repair a Removable Grille

Clean all surfaces with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. For more detailed cleaning and refinishing instructions, see Andersen® Interior Removable Grille Care and Maintenance

Lay the grille bars flat on a clean surface, with the side that faces the glass facing up. You’ll see where the bars interlock

Apply a small drop of wood glue at the intersection where the bars meet

Press the other grille bar into place and hold it firmly

Place a heavy object on top of the joint and let the glue dry completely
