With routine care and maintenance, Andersen® interior removable grilles will continue to enhance the style of the home. We recommend removing interior grilles for light cleaning and visual inspection once a year. Care for and maintain the Andersen® interior grilles by removing, cleaning, refinishing, and repairing them. Removal instructions can vary slightly depending on the Andersen® window or patio door the interior removable grille has been installed. Directions for removing or installing Andersen® interior removable grilles as well as finishing and cleaning are found in Removable Interior Grille Installation.
Cleaning
Dust, dirt, smoke, film, soot, and salt spray on grilles can be removed with a brush or mild detergent and water solution, and a soft cloth. Grease, oil, or industrial solids may need a stronger solution such as Mr. Clean®, Soft Scrub®, or rubbing alcohol. Avoid contacting glass surfaces with any abrasive materials.
Touch-Ups and Refinishing
If, after visual inspection, you determine the interior removable grille needs a little touch-up, we have 1/2-ounce bottles of matching touch-up paint available. Please see Painting Wood Interior Grilles or Staining Grilles for information on reviving interior removable grilles.
