Let's Get Started

Tilt Both Windowpanes

Important: When tilting the window sash into the home, you must support the sash by holding it or resting it on a table or chair. Before locking the windows back into the frame, make sure the windowpane is level. If the window sash is not level, it may not tilt back into the unit frame easily.

For step-by-step instructions about how to tilt the lower and upper windows, see steps one (1) and two (2) on page 2 and step five (5) on page 4 of the Sash Replacement, Removal, and Reinstallation Guide. Opens in a New Browser Tab That guide provides steps to replace the windowpanes, which you will skip if you only want to tilt the sashes. Refer to Installing Replacement Sash on 400 Series Tilt-Wash Double-Hung Windows for detailed steps on the removal and installation process.
