This article provides guidance on upgrading the deadlock to the current reachout lock and receiver. It also provides links for ordering replacement parts and written installation instructions. Andersen® gliding patio door deadlocks manufactured from 1978 - 1993 can be upgraded to the 2005 - Present reachout lock and receiver. If the deadlock and receiver are replaced, replacing all locking hardware with the current style is recommended.

Locating the Andersen® Glass Code, which contains information about the year the product was manufactured, can identify the patio door's vintage. See Glass Type Identification for Andersen® Windows and Patio Doors.
