Gliding Patio Door Handing

Examples of our gliding patio door handing. The door panels with the arrows are operating panels.

Gliding patio door units are handed from the exterior of the home. They are handed based on the location of the operating patio door panel when standing outside your home. If the operating patio door panel is on the left of the patio door unit, the patio door unit is left-handed, and the stationary panel will have the same handing as the operating panels. The unit is handed as a whole.

Right-Handed Door

Right-Hand Stationary Panel / Right-Hand Operating Panel.

RH Stationary / RH Operational

Left-Handed Patio Door

Left-Hand Operating Panel / Left-Hand Stationary Panel.

LH Operational / LH Stationary

4-Panel Door

Right-Hand Stationary Panel / Right-Hand Operating Panel / Left-Hand Operating Panel / Left-Hand Stationary Panel.

4-Panel gliding patio door units have a right and left-hand operating panel.

The two (2) panels on the left make up a right-handed door.

The two (2) panels on the right make up a left-handed door.

RH Stat / RH Oper / LH Oper / LH Stat

3-Panel Left-Handed Door (200 Series Perma-Shield only)

Stationary Panel / Left-Hand Operating Panel / Left-Hand Stationary Panel.

The left stationary panel in this unit is not handed.

200 Series Perma-Shield 3-panel doors were discontinued in 1998.

Stationary / LH Operational / RH Stationary

3 Panel SLR (A-Series only)

Left-Hand Operating Panel / Center Stationary Panel / Right-Hand Operating Panel.

The center stationary panel in this unit is not handed.
