Proper installation of Andersen® removable interior grilles is essential for both aesthetic appeal and functionality and we can help verify authenticity, find the right installation instructions, and troubleshoot any fitting issues to ensure a flawless result.

Ensuring a Perfect Fit: Your Guide to Installing Andersen® Interior Removable Grilles

Start by checking whether the interior removable grille has an AW logo. This logo confirms that the grille is an authentic Andersen® product. Once verified, ensure the grille is installed correctly and that you have the appropriate installation instructions on hand.

To locate the correct guide, identify your Andersen® product using the Product ID Label or the original glass date. This will help you find the specific instructions tailored to your window or patio door model. You can use the Identify your Andersen® Guided Help Pathway Opens in a New Browser Tab or refer to the article Identify Your Andersen® Window or Patio Door Using a Product ID Label for assistance.

Installation

Some interior removable grilles are designed with notches for grille fasteners, while others are not. The installation process may vary depending on this detail. Reviewing the correct guide is essential for proper fit and function. For installation instructions and visual reference, see Identifying and Installing Grille Fasteners for Removable Interior Grilles on Andersen® Windows and Doors.

Grille Fit Troubleshooting Guide

Check Lock Keeper (Double-Hung Windows Only)

This applies only to 200 Series Narroline® and 400 Series Tilt-Wash double-hung windows. If the grille does not fit behind the lock keeper, review Why is My New Interior Removable Grille Not Fitting Behind the Lock Keeper on my Double-Hung Window?.

Grille Clip Adjustment

If the grille feels loose, try bending the grille clips inward toward the center of the glass. This adjustment can help tighten the fit and improve stability.

Plunger Inspection

Please look over the grille to make sure that all plungers are present and none are missing. Any missing or broken grille fasteners should be replaced to ensure a secure fit.

Oversized Grille

Make sure the grille clips are fully seated against the wood glass stop. This positioning provides the necessary clearance for the grille to fit properly.

Replacement Parts

Replacement grilles and fasteners are available through the Andersen® Windows & Doors Parts Store. Opens in a New Browser Tab If you are requesting a replacement product, please confirm the unobstructed glass dimensions and the glass code information. These details are essential to ensure the correct replacement is provided.
