Let's Get Started

1. Verify Grille Authenticity

Check whether the interior removable grille has an Andersen (AW) logo. This logo confirms that the interior removable grille is an authentic Andersen® product.

2. Check Installation

Once verified, make sure the interior removable grille is installed correctly by referring to the installation guide. You can find the applicable grille installation guide under Accessory Instructions. Opens in a New Browser Tab

Note: Some interior removable grilles have notches for grille fasteners or spring clips, while others do not. The installation process may vary depending on this detail. For installation instructions and visual reference, see Replace Grille Fasteners on Andersen® Windows and Doors.

If you do not know the Series of your Andersen product with interior removable grilles, see Identify Your Andersen® Window or Patio Door Using a Product ID Label, or use Andersen's Identify My Product Guided Help Pathway. Opens in a New Browser Tab

3. Check Interior Removable Grille Fit

If your interior removable grille still doesn't fit correctly after verifying its authenticity and installation, check the items below.

  • If the interior removable grille feels loose, try carefully bending the grille fasteners toward the center of the glass. This adjustment can tighten the fit and improve stability.
  • Look over the interior removable grille to make sure all fasteners or spring clips are present, and none are missing. Replace any missing or broken grille fasteners or spring clips.
  • Make sure the interior removable grille fasteners or spring clips are fully seated against the wood glass stop, the trim piece attached to the window or door intended to hold the glass in place. This positioning provides the necessary clearance for the grille to fit properly.

4. Check Lock Keeper (Double-Hung Windows Only)

If the interior removable grille does not fit behind the lock keeper on a 200 Series Narroline® or 400 Series tilt-wash double-hung window, see Removable Grille Not Fitting on 200 Series Perma-Shield® Narroline® or 400 Series Tilt-Wash Double-Hung Window.

5. Order Replacement Interior Removable Grilles or Fasteners

If you have any missing or broken interior removable grilles, fasteners, or spring clips, you can purchase replacements online from the Andersen® Windows & Doors Parts Store Opens in a New Browser Tab or Contact Andersen® Windows and Doors for ordering assistance.

Note: You will need to confirm the unobstructed glass dimensions and the glass code information to order the correct replacement interior removable grille parts. See Measure Andersen® Window or Patio Door Glass for step-by-step instructions.
